Takis Theodorikakos: “Practical support for the new productive model in Thessaly through the strengthening of industry and innovation.”

Takis Theodorikakos, Greece’s Minister of Development, visited Larissa to personally review the results of the support provided by the Ministry of Development to local businesses through the Development Law, promoting in practice a new productive model in Thessaly, with a focus on strengthening industry and innovation.

Mr. Theodorikakos visited the facilities of Lariplast, which operates in the packaging sector, offering plastic and paper products for food and beverages. The company exports to 25 countries, has an annual turnover of €30 million, and provides 200 jobs for local residents. “We are supporting industry with all our strength, as under the Development Law, 34 businesses in Larissa in the manufacturing sector have been included, receiving a total of €55 million, with investment budgets amounting to €115 million,” Mr. Theodorikakos stated. “Lariplast has great momentum, continues its export activity and productivity. This is a guarantee of new successes in the future,” he added.

Larissa can become a hub of innovation, prosperity, and opportunity for young people, so they can remain here, start families, work, and launch businesses. Alongside all this, the important Agricultural Experiential Laboratory should be integrated, with hundreds of farmers receiving services, achieving better crops and stronger financial results. We are sending a message: Greece can produce everything we need, export more, and build an economy that is strong, competitive, and resilient. At the center of this effort is Larissa and all of Thessaly,” Mr. Theodorikakos concluded. He was accompanied by Christos Kapetanos, Member of Parliament for New Democracy.
